Central Florida Home for Good is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Resident Assistant to support the residents at Sanford Courtyard, an affordable housing community with up to 20 apartments. This part-time, contract position involves creating a welcoming environment, serving as a bridge between residents and property management, and organizing engaging community activities.

Job Title: Resident Assistant (RA)

Status: Part-Time, Contract Position

Location: Sanford Courtyard Apartments, Sanford, FL
Reports to: CEO

Rate: $20 per hour
Hours: 10 hours per week

 

Overview


Central Florida Home for Good is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Resident Assistant to support the residents at Sanford Courtyard, an affordable housing community with up to 20 apartments. This part-time, contract position involves creating a welcoming environment, serving as a bridge between residents and property management, and organizing engaging community activities.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Resident Support

  • Provide referrals to community resources as needed.

  • Assist residents with general inquiries and concerns, ensuring a supportive living experience.

  • Foster a sense of community among residents.

 

Communication

  • Serve as a liaison between residents and property management, facilitating clear and timely communication.

  • Address resident issues while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.

 

Community Engagement

  • Plan and lead 2-3 resident activities per month, such as:

    • Game days

    • Movie nights

    • Vision board sessions

    • Holiday celebrations

    • Educational workshops

  • Encourage resident participation in events and gather feedback to improve community programs.

Administrative Duties

  • Maintain accurate records of resident interactions and community activities.

 

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree preferred.

  • Previous experience in customer service, social work, or community organizing is a plus.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Excellent problem-solving abilities.

  • Proficiency in basic computer applications (MS Office, email).

  • Compassionate, patient, and adaptable.

 

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to climb stairs and lift up to 25 pounds.
